The JFK Library in Boston, closed after President Trump's executive order caused layoffs at the museum, is back open.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston was forced to close Tuesday due to the “sudden dismissal of federal employees,” the library’s foundation said in a statement to CNN.

The JFK Library in Boston abruptly closed on Tuesday afternoon after the "sudden dismissal" of workers due to an executive order by President Trump, the JFK Library Foundation said. The National Archives told CBS News the library will reopen on Wednesday.

The National Archives, which administers the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, announced the library will reopen one day after it was closed "until further notice."

Library officials received a phone call on Tuesday morning informing them that all employees still in their probationary period were being laid off effective immediately
