While the Pakistan Cricket Board had initially refused to entertain the idea of hosting next year’s Champions Trophy in a hybrid model, under-pressure chairman Mohsin Naqvi appeared to have softened his stance on the matter on Saturday.

The intrigue over where the Champions Trophy 2025 will be held continues, with the ICC Board deciding to give PCB, the hosts, more time to try and find a workable solution along with the ICC and the BCCI.

Naqvi spoke to the Pakistani media on the sidelines of the India-Pakistan clash on Saturday, November 30, during the U-19 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The PCB is demanding that the hybrid model be implemented for tournaments hosted in India, including the 2026 T20 World Cup, the 2029 Champions Trophy, and the 2031 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

The International Cricket Council are yet to reach a decision over the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy following a meeting on Friday.
