Lukas Reichel gave them a little bit of life at 3:26 of the third period. That life only lasted for 21 seconds though as Fraser Minten scored on the next shift to make it 3-1 Leafs. Matthew Knies threw one into the empty net at the end of the game and the Leafs won 4-1.

TORONTO -- Auston Matthews scored his first goal in his second game since returning from an upper-body injury, and the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 at Scotiabank Arena on Monday.

Lukas Reichel scored for Chicago, which has lost three straight. Arvid Soderblom stopped 18 shots. Matthews missed nine games with an upper-body injury before picking up two assists in his return to the lineup Saturday in a 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
