Microsoft 365 VPN is shutting down permanently, and Microsoft has confirmed that the privacy protection feature in the Defender app will disappear from Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. They've also advised Android users to remove the Defender VPN profile from their device settings, though keeping it won’t cause issues.

Microsoft says that no action is required from Windows, macOS, or iOS users of the Microsoft Defender app, but Android users of the VPN feature will need to remove the VPN profile from their devices manually. Microsoft's support page provides instructions for doing this.
