VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Publix celebrated the grand opening of its first Virginia Beach store Thursday morning. The 49,000-square-foot grocery store located at 2200 General Boulevard is the third location in Hampton Roads, with one in Suffolk and another in Williamsburg. Managed by Greg Switzer, the store employs about 140 workers.

The popular grocery story chain will open its third location in Hampton Roads and second in South Hampton Roads in December.
