Tesla is challenging the European Union in court over the tariffs imposed on its Chinese electric vehicles despite getting

The EU imposed anti-subsidy tariffs of 7.8% on Tesla on top of the 10% levy. BMW’s imports were hit with a 20.7% duty. The firm was hit because its electric Mini Cooper and the 100% electric Mini Aceman are made in China, according to car website Autogear.

Elon Musk's Tesla launched a new higher-priced version of the Model Y, its best-selling car, in the United States, Canada and Europe on Thursday, weeks after it was first released in China.

Tesla is taking the EU to court over tariffs it imposed on imports of electric vehicles from China. The European Court of Justice published the case on its website on Monday morning. The US company follows BMW of Germany and several Chinese carmakers in filing claims.
