A fibre optic cable connecting Finland and Sweden has been cut, leading to internet outages and suspicions of sabotage. The damage to the cable occurred at two separate places in the cable line within Finland on Monday afternoon,

Experts have noted that the Danish-Swedish cables operated by TDC Net and Energinet lie at a similar depth to the damaged C-Lion1 cables, raising even more concerns about potential connections to the Yi Peng 3’s activities. TV 2 has reached out to both TDC Net and Energinet, but neither has reported any irregularities in operations on November 7.

In a recent development it has been known that the undersea cables which were connecting Finland and Sweden to the Central Europe were cut and it is being reported that it was certain sabotage from a Chinese Ship.

Operators of telecommunications cables in the Baltic Sea, which connect Sweden with Lithuania and Finland with Germany, have reported their repair. The damage might have been caused by the Chinese ship Yi Peng 3.

Security expert Lincoln Parker says there has been a very large Chinese vessel in the Baltic Sea “suspiciously” hovering and loitering over the areas where the undersea data cables are.
