Marshall is coming off of a nationally-televised 77-72 win against the Red Wolves its last time out on February 5. The Jaguars dropped an 80-67 decision last Saturday at Akron in the Mid-American Conference-Sun Belt Challenge. Marshall head coach Cornelius Jackson expects his team to face an abundance of zone defense against South Alabama.

Elijah Ormiston scored 26 points as South Alabama beat Marshall 91-82 in overtime on Thursday night. South Alabama outscored Marshall 14-5 in the extra period. Obinna Anochili-Killen hit a jumper for Marshall with 12 seconds left in regulation to force overtime tied 77-all.
South Alabama plays the Marshall Thundering Herd after Barry Dunning Jr. scored 22 points in South Alabama's 80-65 loss to the Akron Zips.
