The Israeli military said on Monday it struck dozens of targets throughout Lebanon, shortly after Hezbollah accused Israel of violating a ceasefire agreement and fired missiles on an Israeli military position in the disputed Shebaa Farms area.

Hezbollah fired Monday evening at an Israeli Army post in a south Lebanon border area in a first such response to alleged repeated Israeli violations of a cease-fire agreement achieved last week.

The cease-fire appeared to largely be holding, but it was unclear when hundreds of thousands of Lebanese and tens of thousands of Israelis could return to their homes near the border.

The Lebanese army said Israel violated the cease-fire agreement, while the IDF said it was responding to violations by Hezbollah.
