A Detroit man accused of a crash last weekend that left an off-duty city police officer dead has been charged, officials said. Dayjon Antwian Macon, 28, was arraigned Thursday through 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

A vigil was held Thursday for the Detroit police officer killed in a hit-and-run crash on his way home from work.

"Not only do I find him to be a flight risk based on his past behavior, leaving the scene of the accident, I do think he is a danger to the community if he continues to drive," the judge said.
