MEXICO CITY — In recent days, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has touted her country’s largest-ever seizure of fentanyl and highlighted multiple crackdowns on migrants headed toward to the United States. She was speaking to the press, but her most important audience is U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Mexico's president will ask President-elect Donald Trump that, if he deports migrants, to deport non-Mexicans directly to their home countries, rather than dumping them at the Mexican border.

Since last month’s US presidential election, five migrant caravans have formed in southern Mexico. The region is facing a new influx of migrants. While some attempt to cross Mexico on their own, others prefer to wait for appointments with American migration agents.
