The police department in Worcester allowed officers to engage in sexual contact with women suspected of being involved in the commercial sex trade, according to a Justice Department report.

The DOJ investigation also found that the department excessive force and engages in sexual conduct with women suspected of being sex workers.

The report includes graphic details about allegations of sexual contact between police officers and women engaged in prostitution.

Justice Department officials alleged Worcester police officers had sexual encounters with women they were investigating for prostitution.

The agency found that the Police Department used excessive force and allowed undercover officers to have sexual contact with women suspected of being prostitutes.

Investigators said they also have “serious concerns” about “credible reports of sexual assault and other sexual misconduct by WPD officers."

The Worcester Police Department has unjustifiably used Tasers, police dogs and hit people on the head, the U.S. Department of Justice's report states.

Both the patrol officers and supervising officers unions called for disclosing the names of those involved in the investigation.
