BREAKING: Ex Falcons Center Drew Dalman Signs with Bears in Free Agency
Ex-Falcons center Drew Dalman finds new home in NFC North
The NFL's "legal tampering" period of free agency began less than an hour ago and the Atlanta Falcons have already lost their top free agent. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with center Drew Dalman on a three-year, $42 million contract, including $28 million in guaranteed money.
Longtime nemesis Sean Payton continues to haunt the Atlanta Falcons. San Francisco 49ers linebacker was a player who the Falcons were reportedly showing interest in. He signed with Payton's Denver Broncos on a three-year deal worth up to $35 million.
Former center Drew Dalman is set to sign a three-year, $42 million deal with the Chicago Bears, according to multiple reports.
Dalman, a fourth-round pick from the 2021 NFL draft, has developed into a quality starter on one of the league's better offensive lines. With a young quarterback in Michael Penix Jr., the Falcons would benefit from retaining the former Stanford standout, however, they've already invested a ton of money into their offensive line.
