Yegor Chinakhov returns to the Blue Jackets' lineup after missing 39 games with a back injury, while Sillinger heads to IR with upper-body injury.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Yegor Chinakhov off Injured Reserve and placed forward Cole Sillinger on Injured Reserve retroactive to February 27, club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Don Waddell announced today.

The Blue Jackets activated Yegor Chinakhov from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Joseph LaBate and Mikael Pyyhtia could see more ice time as a result of Sillinger facing an extended absence.

Sillinger (shoulder) is expected to miss several weeks after general manager Don Waddell told reporters Tuesday, "We know he doesn't need surgery. We've had that confirmed. It's just a matter of rehabbing the shoulder,

The Blue Jackets have been one of the best stories in sports this year. GM Don Waddell did not want to mess with that at the trade deadline.

The Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers play the third of four meetings on the season. This will also be the first of two games in six days between the two teams.
