The Horned Frogs trailed by as many as 22 points in another defeat on the road. However, West Virginia had another response as Small knocked down a bucket in the paint and then found Joseph Yesufu for a 3 to put the Mountaineers back in front 67-53 with 4:25 remaining. Small finished with 23 points, 10 assists and six 3-pointers.

One week ago, TCU pulled off a stunning upset over ninth-ranked Texas Tech. At the time, they were winners of three straight and revived their hopes of playing in March Madness. Those hopes have dwindled following a road loss to West Virginia 73-55.

West Virginia (17-11, 8-9 Big 12) rebounded from a 73-51 loss at then-No. 9 Texas Tech on Saturday and avenged a 65-60 loss at TCU on Feb. 5. Small was 6-of-11 shooting from 3-point range and finished 8 of 16 overall.
