Ford hasn't yet formally told the world exactly when the next-generation F-150 pickup truck will be arriving, but if there's one certainty in the car world, it's that a new F-Series is inevitable. That said, a recent report from Crain’s Detroit Business tells us it’s going to be a delayed arrival.

Ford has reportedly told suppliers it will delay the launch of the next-generation F-150 pickup truck. Three automotive supplier executives confirmed as much to Crain's Detroit Business.

The Ford F-Series has been the top seller for decades, but the current turmoil in the industry has the automaker delaying the next F-150 by at least a year.

Communicating a launch delay well in advance, as Ford is doing with the F-150, helps parts producers in terms of planning and preventing stranded capital, the supplier officials said. Ford’s communication and transparency with suppliers has improved considerably since Door took over supply chain in 2023, they added.

Ford will delay production of the next generation F-150 by one year, continuing to produce the current model until April 2028.
