The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is moving to drop a suit against Capital One brought during the Biden administration just last month that accused the bank of cheating customers out of a collective $2 billion.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau dropped a Biden-era lawsuit against Capital One Financial Corp., the latest in a slew of enforcement actions pulled under the Trump administration.

The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Thursday dropped a legal action against Capital One , which the agency had accused last month of cheating consumers out of more than $2 billion in interest payments on savings accounts.

Last month, the agency accused the bank of illegally misleading millions of consumers, keeping them from receiving more than $2 billion in interest.

The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Thursday dropped a series of enforcement actions against financial services companies accused of wrongdoing under the prior administration, including a major case against Capital One for allegedly avoiding billions in interest payments.
