A Michigan State University student who witnessed the deadly shooting has filed a $50 million lawsuit, alleging that university officials failed to implement security measures that could have prevented the tragic incident from happening.

Students Maddy Garneau and Grace DeMilio said one of the reasons they chose MSU was due to how the university handled the aftermath of the shooting.

Former student Justin Bowman claims the mass shooting was "entirely preventable," and actions of school officials made Michigan State's campus unsafe.
