Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson reached out to Milwaukee Public Schools to figure out a deal to get police officers back in schools. This comes one day after a judge ordered the district to restore resource officers by Feb.

As advocates against police presence in Milwaukee schools continue to speak out, the district is over a year late on a state requirement to add them.

Milwaukee Public Schools have been out of compliance with a state law requiring them to have 25 officers in schools.
