Patrick: Even though Dundee United contained Celtic well, it never felt like we were in danger thanks to a really solid defensive performance. The players overall looked tired but got the job done nonetheless. Great to extend the lead to 16 points.

Celtic moved 16 points clear at the top of the Premiership table after a 2-0 home win over Dundee United. Goals from Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate gave the Hoops the win, on a night when Brendan Rodgers’ side produced another dominant performance at Paradise.

Dundee United rang the changes with top scorer Sam Dalby on the bench and that seemed the result of players feeling the effects of a challenging schedule. They knew they would concede a lot of possession, but struggled to hold the ball at all in the first half.
