The Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu will be closing at 3 p.m. on Tuesday due to the approaching storm. The first storm is expected Tuesday afternoon, bringing rain to Ventura County. By Tuesday night, it is expected to spread to Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Orange counties as well as the Inland Empire.

Storms rolling through the area this week could present safety issues in the aftermath of the Palisades Fire, Caltrans said.

Just hours after fully reopening for the first time since early January, the Pacific Coast Highway is once again closed as crews prepare for incoming rain. Jasmine Viel reports.

Only essential workers -- such as first responders, recovery agencies and utility companies -- will be able to access PCH in the closure area. Residents with passes will still be able to return to their homes in Pacific Palisades via Chautauqua.
