Michael Taaffe received hateful texts in aftermath of College Football Playoff Peach Bowl targeting non-call of Texas Longhorns' win vs Arizona State.

Texas avoided the first big upset of the College Football Playoff, hitting a fourth-and-long touchdown pass to keep the game going and beating Arizona State 39-31 in double overtime when an interception by Andrew Makuba finally ended a Peach Bowl quarterfinal classic.

The Texas Longhorns may be the underdogs in Friday night's Cotton Bowl, but they are getting back a huge piece to help them pull off the upset of Ohio State. Right tackle Cameron Williams appears to be on track to start after missing the Peach Bowl.

The Buckeyes enter the matchup as the 6-point favorite over the Longhorns although Texas is the higher ranked team in the playoff. That point spread feels fair considering Ohio State looks to be the hottest team in the playoff and Texas struggled to defeat Arizona State in double-overtime last week.
